Silk producers of the Lebap province have become the first in Turkmenistan to successfully fulfill their contractual obligations by delivering more than 1,010 tons of silk cocoons to the state storage. This was reported by the "Türkmenistan" newspaper. As noted, this major success is the fruit of more than a month of hard work by the Lebap silk producers, their well-organized preparations for the season from the very beginning, and their rich practical experience. This year, 27,656 boxes of silkworm eggs were distributed to the province's silk producers. To produce the planned 1,010 tons of cocoons, contracts were signed with 22,709 silk-producing households. The silkworms were fully and correctly cared for in accordance with agrotechnical requirements. As a result, an abundant harvest of high-quality, industrially valuable raw material was produced. The highest indicator in this labor victory belongs to the silk producers of the Çärjew district, who managed to collect more than 173 tons of high-quality cocoons. Tenant silk farmers of the Dänew district delivered more than 140 tons, the Halaç district producers handed over more than 146 tons, and the Saýat district silk producers contributed more than 132 tons of valuable raw material. These figures show that silk production is being carried out on a wide scale in the province and that the labor competition among the districts is highly effective. Despite the fulfillment of contractual obligations, the delivery of cocoons continues in the province. This demonstrates that the Lebap silk producers are not limiting themselves to just meeting the plan, but are striving to achieve even higher results. The development of the silk industry holds great importance in strengthening the raw material base of the country's textile industry. Cocoons are a valuable raw material, and the silk products manufactured from them are distinguished by their elegance, durability, and high quality.
