Silkworm breeders of Turkmenistan's eastern region aim to produce 1,010 tons of silk cocoons

This year, silkworm breeders in the eastern districts of Lebap province were the first in the country to begin the process of rearing silkworms. The breeders prepared well in advance for the season, which commenced with the ripening of mulberry leaves. The rearing rooms were disinfected, and sanitary maintenance was conducted. In the fields, mulberry trees were pruned, fertilized, and irrigated. The newspaper "Turkmenistan" reported this. During this season, the province's silkworm breeders aim to produce 1,010 tons of cocoons. To achieve this, it is planned to provide breeders with 26,756 boxes of silkworm eggs for incubation. Contracts have been signed with experienced breeders to manage the rearing process.
