Dashoguz velayat of Turkmenistan exceeds silk cocoon production target

More than 500 tonnes of valuable raw material—silk cocoons—have been harvested in Dashoguz velayat of Turkmenistan this season, surpassing the planned target. Sericulture producers in the Shavat and Garashsyzlyk etraps achieved particularly strong results. . This was reported by an online newspaper «Turkmenistan: Golden age». Among the leading producers were the farmers of the Sadulla Rozmetov Agricultural Joint-Stock Association in the Shavat etrap, who harvested six tonnes more cocoons than originally planned. Sericulture has long been one of the key branches of agriculture in the velayat. Thanks to ongoing support measures, the region now has all the necessary conditions for large-scale silk cocoon production, including a strong feed base. Thousands of tenant farmers have accumulated extensive experience in silkworm rearing and actively participate in this important annual campaign, while also introducing modern scientific recommendations into production practices.
