In Dashoguz velayat, it is planned to harvest 500 tons of silkworm cocoons

In Dashoguz velayat, about seven thousand tenant farmers are engaged in silkworm cocoon production this year. This is reported by online newspaper «Turkmenistan: Golden age». Silk producers in the region expect to successfully fulfill the plan within the established timeframe and harvest 500 tons of valuable raw material. This year, relevant contracts have been signed with 8,700 cocoon producers across the province. Great attention is paid by producers to the timely implementation of necessary preventive measures against silkworm diseases, the quality and freshness of mulberry leaves, which are the main food source for silkworm larvae, as well as to the feeding regime of the larvae.
