Staff from the Dashoguz branch of the Cotton Research Institute of the Ministry of Agriculture of Turkmenistan are working to develop new cotton varieties adapted to the velayat's climate and weather conditions. This was reported by the online newspaper "Turkmenistan: Golden age". This year, they submitted seeds and all necessary documentation for the new "Daşoguz-11" and "Daşoguz-12" cotton varieties to the relevant Ministry department for variety testing. These varieties are part of our line of medium-fiber "Daşoguz" cotton varieties. As Ch. Seyitmuradov, head of the Dashoguz velayat branch, notes, intensive work is underway to improve the quality of cotton grown in the region and develop high-yield varieties best suited to local soil and weather conditions. The new varieties will boast higher yields, fiber yield, and fiber quality. Cotton growing is one of the main agricultural sectors in the velayat. Thanks to the successful implementation of state projects, a full production cycle has been established, from breeding and seed production to processing the raw material into finished products. As a result of the consistent expansion of the region's industrial potential, based on the processing of local raw materials, a number of high-performance cotton gins are now successfully operating.
